Branch County Privacy Notice

This notice describes what information may be collected when someone uses the site, why it may be used, and when it may reach another service. Continued use means acceptance of these practices.

Information That May Be Collected

A search term entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider that powers that tool and is handled under its own policy. Messages sent through a contact method include the details the sender chooses to provide. Servers and analytics tools may also record technical data such as an IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed, and approximate visit time. Cookies or similar storage may remember preferences, measure use, support advertising, and help services function.

How Information Is Used

Collected data may be used to operate and secure the site, respond to messages, understand which pages work well, fix errors, limit abuse, and support advertising or search functions. Search input is not used to create an official Branch County record. The site does not control how an outside search partner processes a query after it leaves this site.

Sharing and Service Providers

Information may be available to search partners, hosting providers, analytics services, and advertising networks as needed for their services. It may also be disclosed when required by a valid legal order, to law enforcement when legally compelled, or to protect the site and its users from fraud, abuse, or a security threat. Personal data is not represented as an official Sheriff, court, or Michigan Department of Corrections record.

Outside Links and Cookies

Links to Branch County, Michigan courts, MDOC, federal locators, news outlets, and other websites lead to services with separate privacy terms. Their operators control their pages, cookies, data, and uptime. Browser settings can block or clear cookies, but doing so may keep some search, preference, or measurement features from working as intended.

Security and Retention

Reasonable safeguards are used, but no website, network, or storage method can promise complete security. Information is kept only as long as reasonably needed for site operations, legal duties, dispute handling, or security. A message may remain in backups or service-provider systems for a limited period after it is no longer in active use.

Children and User Choices

This site is not directed to anyone under 18, and it does not knowingly seek personal information from minors. Depending on applicable law, a user may ask to learn about, correct, or delete personal information supplied directly to the site. Those rights do not extend to Branch County, court, MDOC, news, or partner records controlled by another organization. Privacy questions may be sent through the Contact Us page.

Changes to This Notice

This notice may be revised as site practices, service providers, or legal requirements change. A new version takes effect when posted. Reviewing it from time to time is the best way to see the current terms.
